About the Blue Moon
The Knights of Columbus building was acquired by Fred and Myrna Gommels on October 6, 2006. Fred & Myrna are the owners of the Martial Art Fitness Centers, Inc. in Rochester. They have renovated the KC building to turn it into the Blue Moon Ballroom.
Fred and Myrna have been actively involved in ballroom dancing with USA-Dance of Southern MN Since March of 2002.
The Gommels have been hosting Saturday night dances of their own from 2003-2006 at their Martial Art Fitness Center. Those dances are now all held at the Blue Moon Ballroom.
The Blue Moon is a 5000 sq. ft. facility with a 2000 sq. ft. hardwood maple dance floor complete with elegant lighting and state of the art sound system. Flavored coffees, non-alcoholic drinks, and light refreshments are available.
Our spacious seating area will make for a relaxing social atmosphere whether you come to dance or to just hang out with your friends.
The Blue Moon hosts ballroom dancing 6 nights a week for teens and adults in a smoke-free & alcohol-free environment.
